6:1 ratio typically, had 7 patients one night. High acuity units of ~40 beds with 0-1 CNAs, so RNs do all vitals, blood sugars. Many pts are total care and 2 person assist. Charge RNs are usually free but most are unhelpful. You are also floated between the hospitals as needed, and some are 30+ min away from main campus. 70% or more of the RNs are travelers

First my start date was pushed back a week, 3 days before starting the first time due to the organization not realizing they didn’t have orientation available that week. I was informed on The Friday evening before my second start date that i would be cancelled due to low census. Mind you I had already moved to GA from another state to start the assignment.
