First assignment. Wasn’t sure what to expect. Hopkins facility. Great staff. Ratios too high (unit had 20 beds and 3 nurses (7, 7, and 6 for the charge nurse). I was hired for tele but during orientation they asked me if I’d work in onco because they had more desperate needs there. I rarely worked MS before or since, but I don’t think 7 is normal or safe.
